Emergency services to host annual Christmas carol service

Posted

THE emergency services in North Wales are preparing to host their popular Christmas carol service.

The annual service, which is jointly hosted by the Welsh Ambulance Service, North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, will be held at Bangor Cathedral on Monday 11 December at 7.30pm.

There will be performances from Seindorf Beaumaris Band, Côr Ieuenctid Môn and North Wales Police Sgt Arwyn Tudur Jones.

There will also be a mix of readings by representatives of the emergency services, plus well-known carols for the congregation to sing.

Proceeds will go to the North Wales Mountain Rescue Association.

Jason Killens, Chief Executive of the Welsh Ambulance Service, said: “This annual event has become quite a feature in the emergency services calendar and is enjoyed by staff, volunteers, their families and the public.

“It’s a chance not just to enter into the Christmas spirit, but to give thanks to all those who work so hard to keep our communities safe – not just at Christmas, but every day of the year.”

Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman of North Wales Police said: “I am looking forward to joining colleagues, partners and friends for this special occasion to start off the Christmas celebrations.

“It’s enjoyed every year by many staff, volunteers, their families and members of the public who wish to show their support.

“A warm welcome is extended to all to what I am sure will be a wonderful evening.”

Dawn Docx, Chief Fire Officer at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, added: “The carol service is one of the highlights of the Christmas period, not just for our staff, but also for the community who turn out in force to support us. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

“We’re grateful to Bangor Cathedral for hosting what promises to be another wonderful event.”

Admission is free, and refreshments will be served at the back of the cathedral following the service.
